Managing a Customer's Request to Deactivate a Customization

Customers using the Cargas Energy Customization Center have the ability to request deactivation of customizations they no longer need or wish to maintain. This guide will walk you through how to handle a deactivation request when you receive one.


Environment:

  • Cargas Energy 2024.10 and Later

Customer has requested the deactivation of a customization:

  1. Support Receives a ZenDesk Ticket request from a customer to deactivate a customization Deactivate request.png
  2. Next, support creates a CD item to document and track the removal of the customization
    1. From the ticket - go the Apps side menu on the right side of the screen while viewing the ZenDesk ticket. Under Jira > Create Issue

    2. A new Jira form will open with empty fields for you to provide additional information for the Customization Teamjira custom deactivate.png
      1. Project: Custom Development will auto-populate.
      2. Issue Type: Remove Customization will auto-populate.
      3. Reporter: As the request submitter, you will be listed as the reporter.
      4. Assignee: This will auto-populate to Matt, Justin, or the Custom Queue.
      5. Summary: Provide a simple summary of the requirements specific to this request.
      6. Description: Include a detailed summary of the request, ensuring you add any additional details provided by the customer.
    3. After clicking, 'Create Issue' the new CD Item will be created with a CD Item # which you'll want to note and provide the customer.
    4. Next, use the internal macro, 'Customization Deactivation Request (Internal),' to send the request to the Customization Team for review and completion.deactivation request macro.png
